Play Therapy
As a Play Therapist, I help children express and process their feelings. Sometimes children have overwhelming feelings that impact on their behaviour and their relationships. This can be due to various reasons, such as trauma, loss, bullying abuse etc. Often children are unable to work through these feelings by talking and need a space to 'play' their feelings out.

The children I work with usually have one session per week on a 1:1 basis. The child can choose how they play from a variety of toys and activities: puppets, arts & crafts, games, role-play, music, dance, sensory toys, dolls, messy play, stories or sand-tray miniature toys. In the safe space of the playroom, and with my undivided non-judgemental attention, the child can explore and make sense of their feelings.
Play Therapy usually leads to an improvement in self-esteem, resilience and emotional literacy, and the child ends up calmer and happier.
